September Spotlight on the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) The SVP aims to bring the love of Christ to the suffering and those in need within our own and the wider community.
Love your neighbour…… During September the St Vincent de Paul Society makes a special effort to raise awareness of those in need and the activities of the SVP in parishes. We will be promoting two initiatives this month. Can you help please?
We are supporting the Prison Chaplains’ Department at Hewell Prison near Redditch by appealing for unwanted coatsand jumpers that can be given to men without one when they have completed their sentence and return to the community during cold weather.
We continue to appealfor nappies and wet wipes. There are around 30 mothers who are refugees or seeking asylum regularly in contact with the Halesowen Welcome Group. These mothers desperately need nappies especially sizes 5 and 6 and wet wipes for their babies.
Items donated can be left in the Narthex. Thank you.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours. No hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the hands by which he is to bless us now.” St Teresa of Avilla. Turn you concern into action
