Welcome to the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, Old Hill

​The Parish has regular Church Services and Courses are run at intervals, such as Journey in Faith and The Big Picture Bible Course, to help deepen understanding of our Faith. Also, an annual overnight retreat at Maryvale has been introduced with good support.

We are a friendly welcoming multicultural Parish. Social events are organised on a monthly basis to encourage the community feel within the Parish. Our Church Hall is also used by other groups in the wider community.
Recently we have become more involved with the wider community in our Faith & Hope initiative, which has included establishing a Food Share, a Second Hand Furniture Store and starting English as a Second Language help: these initiatives being well supported by parishioners.

Parish History
The original Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Old Hill, was founded in a disused Button Factory in the 1920s. This was used until the late 1970s when it was demolished and a new church built.

The new church was blessed by the Most Reverend Maurice Couve de Murville, seventh Archbishop of Birmingham, on 13th October 1988 and was later consecrated by the Right Reverend David McGough, Bishop of Chunavia and Auxiliary of Birmingham 1st November 2008.
